I. production summary

The first print run of The Tribute Tarot was completed in October 2025.

It consisted of one hundred decks printed and boxed by an external supplier following a fully approved proof. The proof confirmed correct border alignment, an undistorted lid image, and a satin-finish box surface.

The production batch differed from the approved proof. Within hours of delivery, variations were recorded and verified. Subsequent correspondence confirmed that no final quality-control inspection had been conducted prior to dispatch.

II. identified variations

The following technical variations are present throughout the run:

  • Border slippage: visible on all card backs, causing the imagery to sit fractionally off-centre (≈ 4 mm drift maximum).

  • The slippage on the front of the cards is barely visible on some cards and more so on others ( ≈ 2 mm slippage on average.) Please refer back to the images on the Wounded tarot page for visual specs.

  • Box distortion: the lid-top logo image is stretched and distorted along one edge across the entire batch.

  • Finish alteration: the approved mat satin finish was replaced with a canvas textured coating without consultation, altering colour tone and texture.

  • Each deck remains complete, functional, and structurally sound. The variations do not affect handling or reading use; they concern alignment and surface finish only.

iii. Resolution and provinance

After extended discussion, the supplier offered refund or reprint on condition that the decks be destroyed. This condition was declined. The run was therefore retained, inspected, and documented as The Wounded Edition (2025).

Each deck is:
– Signed and numbered by the artist.
– Accompanied by a provenance note confirming its inclusion in this first, imperfect edition.
– Catalogued for transparency and collector reference.

Future corrected printings will be produced under independent oversight with verified proofs and stricter alignment tolerances.

iv. reference and contact

This document exists to ensure clarity for collectors, archivists, and those studying the deck’s production history.
